Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Marvellous composition, and you got the wave at just the right time. Wonderful image!

Terrifc image, very dramatic. It looks like the smaller roots are hiding behind the larger ones.

Yeah, it's going to imbed itself pretty solidly!

What a powerful shot. Great composition. I also love how you captured the power of the ocean behind the artistically twisted tree root. thanks for sharing

A root on a beach means something completely different over here is Oz. I leave there!

Watch out for sneaker waves:) Neat POV complete with a good sized wave behind.

Great compo with that wave...isn't it amazing to think of the power of the water to move something that big and heavy so easily? Lovely shot!
jocko500

I love the way this image interacts with itself. The sea is dramatic, active, vigorous, and just outright cool...and then you've got those tree roots being all active, dramatic, vigorous. There is so much to see here: so much to enjoy. I really love the composition and it has that inspiring mood to it.

Great looking piece of driftwood. The Pacific northwest coast is loaded with great stuff.
