Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Again you show you have a gifted artful and optimistic eye with your fine image even at this time of the year... Glad Ralphie is doing fine!... He looked such the "regal royal warrior" (quick ten times fast on that!) in your photo yesterday! It is so sad about the plight of the poor foxes. Like on this side of the pond, it seems the "ole govy" is awash with political correctness up against the humane treatment of animals (and the human riff-raff in society - don't we wish they showed as much empathy to us taxpayers and property owners!) I enjoyed the website link to catch a wider perspective on the issue of the foxes. Have a totally wonderful day!

A veritable pot pourri of textures my friend. "fences are no barrier to foxes" Boy isn't that the truth. I have seen our urban red foxes scale my six foot seven inch wall. And I have even seen them walking on the roof of the house opposite. I am bad though because I feed them hehe!

What a great eye you have for things like this You have to be looking very hard to find them I would of never thought to look underneath the leaves...... yes I heard someone say the other day they had daffodils popping up I am sure they will re freeze...we still have the month of Feb to go thru and March has been known to pack in a punch as well great artist eye here and love the color combo Hugs Susan

Quite a collection of natural wonders and an excellent shot! A good friend of mine dug a trench along his tall fence and put stainless steel chicken wire down. He then secured it to the fence bottom and put the soil back. A lot of work, but he said it was better than going to the gym. It kept out foxes from his chickens and all the rabbits out that ate his veg patch.

SUPERB WORK!

Everything but the kitchen sink in this beautifully photographed scene, A. And your UK laws appear to favor the predator and not the victim.

Just a local neighborhood where all the residents get along. Lovely image. There was a news story here several years ago about a burglar who fell off someone's slippery roof while trying to rob the house and hurt his back. He sued and won! Unsafe premises leading to injury. Don't you just love it?

A dazzling array of greenish items Andrea although the lichen is the star in this photo. Lovely! Thanks for the update about Ralphie.

a beautiful little micro-garden. Most people don't see the things right there under their very noses .. or rather feet.
