Description
After two days on the road we pulled into Jakar Town in Bumthang Province. As you can see everyone in town turned out to greet us. We were just in time to see the Nimalung Tshechu, or festival, one of the most important festivals in Bhutan.
On the way to our hotel we stopped for petrol at Gembo Tenzin's full service fill-up and spare parts store. Notice the hand cranked petrol pump.

I wonder how did you get away from the crowd. I see a ecological pump. Very healthy :)

That photo is priceless! The attendant is wearing sneakers, blue socks, some kind of robe and the gas pump comes out of the 30's. And the gas is in barrels. I don't know what looks more dangerous, all the gasoline leaking on the ground or that shelter it's under. The no smoking sign is a treasure.

My god, this gas station is an open powder keg. The pump from the early days of the technology. But if you have nothing else, you take what you have for disposal. The main thing it works.

I like how it looks like small rural towns everywhere. I hope the hand crank for the pump doesn't produce sparks ... that looks kind of scary!
