Description

The Chrysler Corporation produced the DeSoto Custom from 1939 to 1952. This is the hood ornament from the 1950 model 4 door custom flat head six. Behind on my comments since I took a spine, while trimming a Roebelenii Palm, right into that fleshy part of the palm of my hand between the thumb and the wrist. Not the best typist around before this and now I am using only my left hand today. Zoom works! Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

One handsome hood ornament. Well done presentation Dana. When I was some age prior to ten years old, a family down the street had a Desoto sedan...probably a 48 or 49. Since everybody else on the street drove a Ford, Chevy or Plymouth, I thought this Desoto driving family must be rich:)

I love these bonnet ornaments but I have never seen this one before It's a shame they don't put them on cars any more. Look after that hand my friend watch it doesn't get infected.

Your accident is why all palms and other killer plants are banished from my garden. I set fire to the last palm to attack me and watched it burn to the ground..most enjoyable! I love this bonnet mascot..very collectable I expect.

Ouch, Dana!!! You have to watch out for those southern dangers!! I love this hood ornament of the DeSoto. I presume that is what Fort DeSoto is named after, one of the beautiful places we visited in Florida. What a great shot!!!

It is a striking hood ornament and it resonates with me, when I go to our annual street fair, called 'Wintersun Festival', where all those beautiful and lovingly restored vintage vehicles are on display (with amazing ornaments) for a whole week ... and this is very special, as I have never seen one like this before, thanks for sharing this one - BTW take care and get well soon, Dana!
