Description

Pasha and his grandfather, Marek left the castle fairly early in their quest to find a person who might know what to do about Pasha's newfound abilities. Pasha tried to wake up Bill, his friend from the States, but couldn't arouse him from his slumbers. He decided to let him sleep and heal some more from injuries he received in their recent automobile accident. Pasha and Marek had Arik, the family chauffer, drive them around to a few of the villages. No one seemed to know what they were talking about in the first two, but at the third village, after a few discreet inquiries, they found a very old woman that scrutinized them up and down before she gave them a clue to the information they were seeking. She gave them directions to a very secluded clearing in the woods not far from the village and that they should wait for a person who might be able to help them with their quest. Following the old woman's directions, they traveled along a mostly abandoned forest road over some very rough terrain, almost getting the limosine stuck a few times, before they found what looked like a clearing matching her description. They had Arik park the limo at the edge of the clearing. Pasha and Marek walked into the clearing and stood in the center looking around for anyone that might be there. An ancent oak tree stood at the edge of the clearing along with a couple old tree stumps in front of it. After standing for quite awhile, they go over and sit down on the two stumps in front of the old oak tree. Pasha asked his grandfather, 'Do you really think this is the right place? You would think this person would have shown up by now!' 'Patience, lad. These people need to be very careful. My experience with this type of person is that you have to earn their trust before they will approach you.' They wait another hour before Pasha starts to become very impatient. He gets up and walks around for several minutes before coming back to the stump and sitting again. Then his impatience turns to anger and he says to Marek, 'I think we have waited long enough! I don't think this person is going to show up!' Just then, with his anger on the rise, he catches a scent unfamiliar to him. He raises his nose and follows the scent. As he does so, he turns his head and looks up squarely at a smiling young man casually reclining in the old oak tree. 'How long have you been up there?' Pasha yells. 'I've been up here ever since you two got here. I was wondering how long it would take you to see me. My grandmother told me you would be here to ask some questions.' With that, the young man jumped down from the tree and walked over to them. Pasha asks him about his costume. He tells them it is part of the process he needs to pass through to gain a deeper understanding of the nature of the knowledge he recently learned from his grandfather. 'You are the Racz's from the castle, aren't you? Marek answered in the affirmative. 'We seek someone that knows the ancient knowledge. Do you know of anyone that does?' 'I am probably the only one within several hundred miles with the knowledge you might be seeking. My grandfather recently passed away, but not before instructing me with his carefully guarded ancient knowledge. I was only inducted to his teachings on his deathbed, since my father had passed away before grandfather could pass it on to him. Tell me, what is it that you seek?' Marek tells the young man about Pasha's discovery of wolf-like strenghth and growth to his teeth and also about his own wife's shift changing from human to wolf. [[[[[CONTINUATION OF THE STORY FROM ABOVE]]]] The young man has Pasha remove his shirt to examine him. Pasha opens his mouth for him as well. Suddenly, the young man punches Pasha in the stomach very hard. The punch doubles Pasha over and he gets very angry. The young man dodges away from him and he charges after him to tackle him. He jumps at the young man but misses his mark as he dodges out of Pasha's way. 'Quickly, Pasha! Open your mouth for me!' he exclaims, before Pasha can get to his feet and come after him again. This confuses Pasha at first so Marek tells him to do it quickly. He knows what the young man wants to see. When Pasha opens his mouth, Marek gasps at how long his teeth are and how very sharp. Even as they observe his teeth, they begin to shorten up, as Pasha regains his composure and calms down. 'It is true, as you both say, but I had to see it for myself. I haven't ever witnessed one of these changes. I only got the description of this change from my grandfather. He left me several very old weather beaten manuscripts. I am afraid I am not able to decipher a lot of the text. My grandfather died before he could give me full instructions in the language.' 'I might be able to help you there.' Marek said. 'Is there someplace we could meet where you could show me these volumes?' 'Yes. Go back to the village where you met my Grandmother. Anyone there can direct you to her house. I will be there waiting for you with the volumes.'
