Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Magical Merlin, what a great and very detailed shot Bill, I built a rudimentary Merlin into my Lancaster, I could use this to detail it up a bit...(did you get any more ?) I love all the 'clutter' in the foreground, great reminder that they look good when 'displaying' but it's all down to hard work and a good tool kit.

Rolls-Royce only made those pieces of stamped metal. The engines themselves were actually reconditioned from East German Trabis.....

Oh, so THAT's where the motor for my Rolls Royce disappeared to! (Big grin!) I find such "anatomical" photos fascinating! You lucky fellow to be able to see such and to photograph it! Keep up the good work! :-)

That's a killer shot, Bill! You don't often get to see a Merlin in all its glory! This is really sharp and clear!

Another cracker shot Bill, and I can't wait to upgrade! Laughing at Andrew's comment! I have to poke myself to remind me that you can actually fly one of these, that's a great skill to possess!

Great shot... I'm sure there is one bolt left over though and they are still scratching their heads to work out where it belongs.... ;-)

The Merlin, the saviour of Allied Aircraft Engines.. The list of aircraft that flew powered by this, is too long to put here, UK, US, and other nations used it.. Bombers, Fighters, Navel aircraft even trainers! Rolls Royce, that goodness! Brilliant Bill.. Rob

You caught these birds on a good day with their cowlings off and powerplants exposed!
