Description
Tolbec follows Marek up to Pasha's bedroom carrying Pasha's sedated naked body where he places him on the bed. Marek asks Tolbec to check on Bill in the next room. Tolbec enters Bill's bedroom just as Jeeves, the butler/vampire is trying to carry his lifeless looking body out of the room.
Jeeves immediately senses the purity of Tolbec's forest spirit. Their auras glow brightly as they know this could be a struggle to the death for one of them. Jeeves drops Bill's body to the floor and rushes to tackle Tolbec.
Tolbec has anticipated the maneuver and steps aside just as Jeeves rushes to where he was. His foot left strategically in place trips the vampire who falls flat on his face. Tolbec immediately jumps on his back and tries to strangle him.
Jeeves is much too strong at the moment to allow that to happen. He gets to his feet with Tolbec hanging on his back and with a few swift twisting motions sends Tolbec flying across the room where he bounces off the wall and slides very shaken to the floor. The vampire rushes over to Tolbec and bends down to grab him. He intends to put the bite on him.
Marek has heard the noise of the struggle and rushes in to see what is happening. 'We have our vampire, Marek!' Tolbec screams, just as Jeeves bends over to bite his neck.
Tolbec may be down but he isn't out. He twists around quicker than the vampire thought possible and grabs the vampire in a scissor hold around the waist, putting him in a very tight squeeze.
Marek wastes no time when he realizes what is happening. Luckily, he read enough about vampires after finding he needed some of their blood to save Pasha, to know that if he were ever in the situation to, he needed to drive a wooden stake through their heart.
He had prepared a few just such stakes in the desparate hope he would be lucky enough to use them. So he rushed down to his library as fast as his feet could carry him and grabbed a couple of the stakes and a mallet and got back to Bill's room just in time to see the vampire bending over Tolbec again just inches away from his neck.
Marek rushes up behind the distracted vampire and with one mighty blow, drives a wooden stake through his back which penetrates his heart. Jeeves lets out a mighty scream and slumps lifeless on top of Tolbec. Blood spurts everywhere and a big pool forms under Jeeves now lifeless body.
Marek checks Tolbec under Jeeves body and determines he is alright. He runs into the bathroom and grabs a wash cloth and drinking glass from beside the sink. Hurriedly, he gets back beside the now dead (?we hope) vampire and soaks up enough blood to almost fill the glass.
By this time, Tolbec has gotten back some of his strength and is able to crawl out from underneath the dead vampire. 'That was way too close for comfort, Marek! Now what do we do with the body?'
'We must sever the head and make sure it is kept away from the body. Then we must burn them in two separate fires! I just can't believe that my trusted butler of all these years was a vampire. It mystifies me how this could be possible!' says Marek.

[THE REST OF THE STORY CARRIED ON FROM THE DESCRIPTIVE BOX ABOVE.] Marek finds a sword from a he has in his library and severs the vampire's head. Once they regain their composure and strength, they remember Bill laying on the floor by the bed. They give him a very thorough inspection. Marek sees the medallion Jeeves gave him and takes it off Bill with no difficulty and places it on a nearby table. Luckily for Bill, he has no noticeable puncture marks from the vampire's teeth. He his still under the spell cast by the vampire that caused him to get sick at the dinner table. They place him back in his bed where he continues to slumber like a baby. Tolbec helps Marek with the cleanup in Bill's room. 'We must destroy that medallion in the fires as well,' says Marek! They take the lifeless vampire corpse and the now severed head outside into the forest behind the castle where they build the two fires necessary to completely destroy him. Once that is accomplished, the return to the castle. They go to Jeeves room to see if there are any clues left to his being a vampire. They hear a thump thumping coming from the closet. Opening it, they find the real Jeeves barely alive but still breathing bound and gagged. They do all they can to revive him. Once he comes around, he tells them how he was blindsided by the vampire shortly after the arrival of the boys. He apologizes for what he feels was a dereliction of his duties as a faithful butler for letting this happen. Marek assures him not to worry. That the problem has been taken care of and will he please keep what he knows about it to himself. Marek doesn't want any word of this getting out. They keep Bill sedated for the next day and night. That night they take Pasha out to the clearing again, just before the moon starts to rise. Once it appears over the eastern horizon, Pasha changes much more rapidly than the previous night. Marek has Pasha quickly drink the glass of vampire's blood. He no sooner gets the last of it down, than the effects of the werewolf vanish from his body. They all breath a huge sigh of relief! Then next day, Bill awakens much refreshed. With the removal of the medallion from his neck, the memories associated with it have seemed to vanish as well. Marek entertains them all around the breakfast table with more anecdotes from his childhood. He has a surprise for Pasha. He purchased another convertible and says that Pasha and Bill can use it to tour the rest of the countries that Pasha wanted to show him. Pasha is delighted as is Bill. He enjoyed the train ride, but much preferred travel by car. Bill and Pasha leave the castle shortly after breakfast and spend the rest of Bill's vacation touring the Eastern European countries. Bill never forgets this trip. Well, most of it. There are still some strange dreams he has at night that he can't explain.
