Description
The end of the abbot's benediction was the signal for those who had been waiting to line up and pay their respects to the Guru. Everyone touched the sacred thanka and most pressed their fingers to their lips afterwards. I joined in. I realized then that, whether it was a church in Los Angeles or a high mountain valley in Bhutan, in the end, we are not so different.

As I watch events in every corner of the world through the eyes of the BBC I am daily struck by this fact of our commonality. Like Tara I love the purples and blues:I wonder if there is a practical reason behind these dyes and what pants they come from.
