Description

I was given this extraordinary plant by a friend. What an oddity! Although I prefer the wild ones, I have to admit this is not without a certain vulgar charm. Prim it is NOT. A sort of 'footballer's wife' of a flower.

I suppose you could say that these are prim...if you brazenly stretch the meaning of the word. I love the combination of colors: something only Nature can get away with. I also like the way the thumbnail gives the impression that one is being watched by a pair of very strange eyes.

The word gaudy comes to mind. Definitely an attention getter. Our American version of the footballer's wife would most likely respond to your comments by saying, "Hey lady, I look GOOD!"
