Description

The bark of the sequoia is very spongy and can be over a foot thick. This tree is in the Tuolumne grove and the trail comes close to it so you can softly touch it as you pass. HDR Image Hope you enjoy!

Stunning. Spongy Sequoia bark! That's a marvel I have yet to experience. Though I know what it is, as I read your description, I also love the way that with just a tiny shift of mental perspective, I can see the skin of an elephant or a somewhat more alien sort of critter. This does, indeed, look infinitely strokable.
