Description

After the comet went below the horizon, I shifted my attention to Orion. I thought about the cone, or M81 / M82, but Orion won. Here is a saved for the web version of Orion. Thanks for viewing.

I live in Chicago. Cities are NOT a good place from which to view comets...heck, we don't even see stars! Unless it's that one star called Sol, but then we only see it when it isn't cloudy! Ah...cities! Now, as for this shot: this is one of those shots that reminds me that I really do need to catch up with your gallery. This is super. I love the sense of wonder this inspires in me. VERY well captured, well presented and simply beautiful. This is fantastic. The Orion Nebula...isn't it hilarious that when you look at the outline of Orion, the nebula is rather close to a rude, sensitive spot below the belt?

Wow! How long was your exposure time? Which telescope and which camera? I'm thinking about doing some astro photography myself.
