Description
It was still early, not many people were about as they set off down the High Street. A young Elfin woman was setting out her shop, Neiwil waved and called " 'morning Ann ", the young woman smiled and went into the shop. Tailspin gave a low whistle and said " hot ! and a candle maker, I'll bet she's brightened a few dark nights ". Neiwil smiled, "more than you think....she's the youngest of four sisters, all called Ann. Their father died and left them each independently wealthy, but they got bored with the easy life. They bought the shop as a hobby, then couldn't agree what to sell. They decided to run it for 3 months of the year each, August through October the eldest sister runs it. She sells late harvest fruit and veg for preserving for the Winter months, she calls the shop 'Ann Autumns'. November through January the next sister sells Furs and woolen goods to keep people warm, she calls the shop 'Ann Winter's'. ( you can see it coming can't you ? ) February through March, the next sister sells seeds and bulbs and horse manure, and the shop is called ' Ann Spring's'. Now that it's Summer its youngest Ann's shop and she sells.....eeerm....things.... and toys......for grown ups. Like edible chastity belts and probably some candles but they've mostly been superseded by something called 'The Troll', 18 inches long and shaped like a........." Neiwil paused. Tailspin had vanished, there was an audible 'SLAP' and Tailspin emerged from Ann's shop rubbing his cheek, Ann was close behind Elfing and blinding!, and it didn't sound like ' have a nice day '....Neiwil shook his head and carried on along the street, when Tailspin caught up, Neiwil pointed towards a quite imposing building with an observatory on the roof. " that's Francis Whittle's, he's been doing strange things with pigs! He's not saying much about it, but the fire-watch are called there at least once a week, it's driving his wife mental, she can't stay in the house for more than an hour or two. A figure appeared at the front door....." morning Frank " called Neiwil, Frank waved and replied " morning Neiwil........morning Neiwil ". The second call came from the kitchen window, " morning Mrs Whittle ", Neiwil responded........Tailspin was prodding Neiwil and pointing at the buxom, readheaded Mrs Whittle...." it's her, it's the one you were...." Tailspin doubled over as Neiwil's elbow drove into his gut.....Neiwil grasped Tailspin by the shoulders in mock concern and called to Frank " he's ok, just a bit of indegestion ". Frank scratched his head and went in doors. Tailspin recovered and Neiwil said " NOT a word !......she was unhappy, I was horny and we were both drunk as skunks, I'm not proud of what we did last night......or the night before....or the twice on Saturday and especially in church on Sunday.....three times....it was just a momentary lapse and it'll not happen again". Mrs Whittle called over in a low voice " don't forget, 9 o'clock "...and she made a very rude gesture with her tongue inside her cheek. Tailspin looked at Mrs Whittle, her large bosom resting on the window sill, he looked at Neiwil, shook his head and said " stuffy bugger ". Suddenly the morning stillness was broken by a thunderous fart, followed by a jet of flame at the back of the Whittle house, accompanied by the squeal of a very unhappy pig. Franks voice was heard from within the house " Wendy! run and fetch the fire-watch would you" ! As Neiwil led Tailspin down the road, the aroma of flash fried bacon filled the air, pointing ahead he said " Ahhh, now that's.......
