Description

We are both healthy and happy with our lives but being president of our condo association and the failing health of my wifes parents has turned our quiet lifestyle into a hectic and pressure filled existence. My only peace is time with my wife Jo, walking in the swamp and spending time here at RR, immersed in your fantastic photos and artwork. I just needed to thank you all for you lovely comments and your friendship. I do not want it to look like I am crying on your shoulders and looking for sympathy. We are healthy and happy but wanted you to know how much you and your work mean to me. This is a male Anhinga sunning himself. They are the south Florida version of a cormorant without the hook on the end of their bill. They spend a lot of time swimming underwater in search of fish and they have to dry off and replenish the oils in their feathers. Photo taken a few years ago, with my old Minolta, at the Wakodahatchee Wetlands, the "swamp" were we walk and get away from all the stress. Adult Anhingas are about 35 inches (89cm) long with a wingspan of 45 inches (144cm). The females have the most beautiful blue eyes. Wakodahatchee is a Seminole Indian word for "still waters". We had no internet access Friday. Zoom will work. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

Zoom is so beautiful, dear friend! I love his attitude, such proud. And he sure can be proud, because of his beautiful outfit. I love that pattern/drawings on his wings. Thank you for your words, for sharing 'you', Dana. I hope things will get better for your family in law, and that you and Jo can feel more relaxed. I'm sorry that I can't be so much here on RR, as I would like to be, due to the stress, which has in a way 'taken my life over'.
