We are both healthy and happy with our lives but being president of our condo association and the failing health of my wifes parents has turned our quiet lifestyle into a hectic and pressure filled existence. They are the south Florida version of a cormorant without the hook on the end of their bill. They spend a lot of time swimming underwater in search of fish and they have to dry off and replenish the oils in their feathers. Photo taken a few years ago, with my old Minolta, at the Wakodahatchee Wetlands, the "swamp" were we walk and get away from all the stress. Adult Anhingas are about 35 inches (89cm) long with a wingspan of 45 inches (144cm). The females have the most beautiful blue eyes. Wakodahatchee is a Seminole Indian word for "still waters".
