Description

Fritz has been feeling his age this last day or two, and requires me to carry him upstairs to bed as he can't at present manage on his own. I found a few doggy painkillers left over from Hetty and Sadie, which are working well, and he is quite perky again. He does milk it when we are on a walk, looking up pleadingly at folk passing by who then stop to commiserate. I have lost much enthusiasm for photos at present and also for this site which today is ponderous and erratic. It's not my PC: everything else is fine.

Get well soon Fritz. I too am quickly becoming disenchanted but it would be sad to lose another stalwart, we have lost several lately.

I was locked out. It seems their servers were overloaded. Too much success? Sorry to hear about Fritz, he is such a dear, but it happens to all us old folks. Glad to hear he is feeling better.

No it's not the eye of the tiger, it is sad when they get old, but our motherly instincts kick in & we help them.

Hope Fritz soon recovers when something happens to our beloved pets it seems to happen to us as well..since we are nuturers to begin with..... Winston feeling the same since he slipped off the bed........now at night whines and cries to get me to lift him up on the bed... Like you said he is milking it as well..............But Winston is 10 yrs old and never any problems except his seizure like activitys....gonna take him to the vet next time he has one and get him on meds for this...right now will give him sugar water when one is coming on and one hasn't for somewhile and hooe not another one non too soon scares me to pieces........gets all rigid can't walk i feel so sorry for him....the vets receptionist told me to get Pediaylye and put a cloth over his eyes.....that and the sugar water works............... I also posted an Easter Poem Acrostic for Easter would love for you to drop by and if you have aleady forgive me....cant keep up Hugs Susan

I've also lost enthusiasm for taking photos, not so much because of the site, but as a result of my slow post recovery from by bout with pneumonia. I've lost a lot of my get up and go. And, as you know, I'm not posting on Renderosity because of the bare minimum of comments I was receiving on my pics. Why even bother? In contrast, I have been loading tonnes of shots on Flickr. As for Fritz and his condition, old age is catching up with him, depriving him of the joy of what younger dogs are capable of. Poor guy. God really messed up by giving canines such a limited life span. Otherwise, stellar clarity, color, detail and lighting in this closeup, A.

I know what you mean. My dog Bob had a huge operation yesterday and is feeling the pain today even with his meds. I hope you get the chance to spoil Fritz rotten! As for this site, it feels to me that the photography gallery is on it's final legs. Frankly, there are so many better sites these days. If it wasn't for fine people like yourself still being here, I doubt I would continue to post.............

I hope Fritz will be feeling better soon. I do dread the day when our two reach the age where it starts to present them problems. Beautiful photo, wonderful perspective.

I know only too well about dogs and their illnesses. I hope Fritz gets well soon. Seems a lot of us have had big things going on with their dogs. As far as Renderosity goes, I don't post much more either, but I still look most of the time. And like Andrew said, it's because of the people.

Oh I think he could control anyone! About the site? Well, I stated earlier that the speed is a function of the servers which obviously cost money but if you don't have sufficient servers, the site speed drops and becomes very annoying. When I click on Submit below, I will wait probably a full minute before I can get back to the photography page. If the site speed worked as well as most other sites I could do twice as much commenting. Right now I cannot consider trying to look at any galleries other than the Photography page. I don't much feel like complaining when I am not paying anything though.

Poor Fritz. I'll happily pet him and fuss over him! It's like grandchildren ... you spoil them and then give them back. :P Love the shot ... excellent!

I hope Fritz is on the way to a speedy recovery, though perhaps he should milk his condition for all it's worth as well. What self respecting mammal wouldn't do that! As for photo-enthusiasm: Corey and I were just talking about that earlier this week. I'm not feeling a loss of enthusiasm so much as a desire to do something else. Perhaps it's just time to do the thing I should be doing and heading elsewhere. Ah, but that's a ramble for another time. This is a marvelous photograph and when I saw the title and the thumbnail, I simply thought: "AH! He controls the vertical and the horizontal!" And then I cringed at the number of hours I've spent in my life, watching old reruns of "The Outer Limits." This is a marvel of a photo, such a delicious closeup. I hope Fritz is back in tip-top-shape as soon as possible.

Oh, the poor little dear, how old is he in 'doggy years' ? - and how nice of you to carry him around, when in need :) I am wishing you both improvement soon. BB BTW I was also locked out, from this site, especially when I had actually found some time to peruse the galleries and leave comments ... that's life, a tricky balance at times!

WOW! Fritz doesnt look a day older that 5 years. I am so sorry he got age troubles. I do hope it wil be better soon. Maybe warmer weather wil do it. I hope so. Yes, have lost a bit of passion for photos too, Running out of good shots. Maybe we have a bit of spring tireness. I dont know what is with Renderosity, but is it a big deal better than yesterday and the day before. I simply gave up on it, as I couldnt get anything done than waste my time. It is better today.
