Description

This sequoia looks like it is standing on its tip-toes to stretch above the other trees. It was a busy holiday weekend and a lot of people were walking around, hundreds of feet above the trees were ignoring all the commotion. I managed to find enough space to setup and then wait and watch for a separation in the foot traffic – one group walked behind the trees and with them hidden I had a few seconds before the next group was in view – click – click –click. Wasn’t always successful but this time it worked out :) Mariposa Grove, Yosemite. Thank you for viewing, I appreciate all the previous comments!

I almost went to the redwood forest the first week of March, but timing was an issue

Cool distortion! Looks like you found some little brown mushrooms out there to envision this shot!

Wow, I am totally in awe. What a magnificent capture of such a difficult subject to contain in a frame. The fisheye is set up perfectly, with one tree being harldly distorted and the others sweeping in for support. With the inclusion of the ground the viewer is indeed well grounded. And it looks almost like a natural sway in the landscape. Just awesome HDR to bring out the charismatic colors. Just an outstanding composition.
