Description
The Praying Mantis is a member of the insect family called Mantidae.
They are predators of many smaller insects you find in the garden.
Parasitic wasps are their natural enemies, which lay their eggs in the Mantid’s eggs.

Fantastic capture! The ones we have can go from lime green to mottled brown depending on the background. I've seen them from 1/2 inch hatchlings to gigantic ones that could carry off a cat.

I tried to introduce these into my garden last year, but haven't seen any results. I guess the birds might have gotten them. Wonderful closeup!

What an awesome image of this praying mantis...most I see are green never saw one this color before... neat neat neat capture like he was posing just for you........ got my pet scan report back today...no good news..found another new nodule..I can't win for losing......sometimes I feel like throwing in the towel and letting it hang up to dry.......but then get to thinking been fighting this 94 why give up now.........I got up maybe one or two new pics........one is a poem I did for Easter..........hope you drop by..........
