Description

The Snake River flows through a 400 foot deep gorge near Twin Falls, Idaho. The Shoshone Falls and Dam has been called the Niagara of the West. Here the falls have a relatively low flow of water going over...about 300 cubic feet per second. Can you imagine them at a high rate of 20,000 to 30,000 cubic feet per second? Will post another picture that shows the full height of these falls...212 feet...45 feet higher than Niagara Falls in New York on the border with Canada. NOTE: Please Zoom for detail.

The long view is fascinating! All those millions of years worth of rock being slowly eroded. This really shows off the "bigger picture," so to speak. Nice!
