Description

I'm always interested in how others react to my stress-relief hobby. Some suggest aliens (how do you know I'm not an alien, myself?) are helping, or perhaps that I have a magical store of infinite patience (okay, I'm exaggerating on that one) or perhaps anti-gravity. Believe it or not, this entire assembly took less than 20 minutes, including the time to take over 2 dozen pictures. A couple of the stacks fell over as I was putting this together, but most of these stayed up for several hours, and the tall one with the nice big round rock seemingly precariously perched on the smaller rock? It's still standing 24 hours later. The real trick is to feel the balance of the rocks, and not try to force something. I give a couple of tries, and if they won't go I quickly shift to something different. I learned early on with rock-stacking that the first thing you have to get rid of is your expectations of what you'll be putting where. If you simply let things go where they will fit you'll be amazed at the end result, which is what I like the most about this odd little hobby. Thanks for taking a look, and may your days be stable, sane, and safe.

Aliens? I'd never have thought that in a million years... wink So, where did you hide the spaceship? ;-D This is seriously cool, Mike, however you did it! I can see where that would be a great stress reliever, and it's certainly a delight to see the results! I'd love to try this myself, but I'd have to find some nice river rocks... All we have around here is limestone, mostly - and that's about as challenging as stacking boxes. :-D

I've found out that way of mind to work well in most fields, but in project management, my hierarchy wouldn't recognize this ^-^

Always interesting to see these creations of yours. I like to stack rocks occasionally but don't have anywhere near your skill or patience. If there was an Olympics of rock stacking, I think you'd definitely be a world class contender...

If you have no expectations, how can you be frustrated? I can totally see how this is relaxing for you. None of this has anything to do with the possibility of you being an alien, however. :)

I have absolutely no doubt that you are an alien. You've had picture taken of you where you claim you are wearing a mask, but I know better! That was the real you!
