Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Stunning. Elegant. There be dragons on that there wall! So naturally, I'd like that. Ears are such funny things too, I rather like them, but then most human appendages have some sort of funny quality to them. This wonderfully elegant.

The shadows give this image a bit more drama. The little dragon doesn't seem to quite know what to make of the giant ear. Purchased or one of your own?

LOL YOU'RE RIGHT!

OMG, just how literal can you get? With the lighting to emphasize it, the ear does look eerie. Outstanding POV, contrast and shadow work in this pic, Andrea.

What a wonderful sort of surreal shot! Well seen and captured!

Do the two reptiles ever fight with each other? When do we get to see all of the camel? I liked Harry's comment! I also like the ear, nose and eye hanging together over on FlickR!

Like a shot from a Hitchcock film. It raises curiosity and intrigue with the juxtapose of a lizard and the ear in dramatic light. Superb mono shot Andrea, not many could have put this mixture under the "home" classification!

Love the shadows

The flickr image is cool, too. I like this one though, because there is less to focus on, so one can 'drink it in' nicely without distraction. The little lizard reminds me of Cheryl's lizard, maybe it's migrated from Texas to England! Do you cover the ear when you are telling secrets to the dogs? Really do like this picture, had to go look at the flickr version again, and decided this is not black and white, even though it looks like it is. love the way the light is casting shadows.

Wonderful! I love the angle and light. The flickr image is great too. I'd also like to see the occupant of the alcove better.
