Description

I'm thrilled to see the flies and bees back at last. I have a wonderful new 'Britain's Hoverflies ' book with which I may be able to ID this and others in future. I have pics of about 40 species from my garden but this book has photos of 165 of the 281 found in the UK. SO exciting! See that Here The camelia is in flower now.

Superlative colors and sharp as a tack in this stunning composition of the fly, performing its genetic duties atop the camelia. Camelias are rare in my neck of the woods, and insects are rarer still.

Nice flower and even nicer to see the hover fly out and about, we have the Daff's and some windflowers smiling at us at long last. Great shots of your tree felling on Flicker, my friend just cut through four and a half tendons cutting a few branches with a hand saw, second time he's tried to cut off that arm.
