A good year for the roses: George Jones
I noticed a post by Harry, goodoleboy and he was trying to identify a rose he had photographed. (beautifully by the way) and I remembered that I had photographed the same rose some years back, at the Biltmore Estates in North Carolina, and something I try to remember to do and a little tip for you all is to always take a picture if you can if there is a sign of a variety of a flower or what ever it may be you are photographing for future reference. I took this one with a Kodak Point and shoot and this is out of camera, I added the frame and text. So Harry this one is called a Scentimental Floribunda.
And I thought of using the title in honor of George Jones who left us all this past week. I am home watching the amazing tribute on CMT country television. I hope you all have a wonderful day.

What a pretty rose and especially for the wonderful George Jones..........When Danny and I were dating back i the 80's his song..He Stopped Loving Her Today always came on the radio and we considered that our song........and I had him sing a special song at the funeral home along with other music........I had them play one song by George Jones Amazing Grace...really wanted He Stopped Loving Her Today but didn't think it would be appropriate for that...........I did however gave another song played by Carly Simon we loved her too and I had them play Thats The Way I Always Heard it Should Be...and a few others...and I like your idea about remembering names as well.......... Love the stripes and the splashes in this rose.....very pretty................10 stars and a fav with me....** Hugs Your Ky sis Susan~

Brilliant variety of this Rose - I have actually a Camellia bud, looking absolutely similar to this variegated specimen ... indeed just like a peppermint sweet! BB (I also kept one in a folder, waiting to be released one of these days) ;)
