Description

It was quite hot on the day that I took half of this photo. It was seasonably cool on the evening that I took the other half of this photo. And on the day that I combined one photo and another, it was…well…it was a bit nippy, though not as bad as it was likely to get, before Chicago decided to stage a nice flood. As with the first “High Altitude Turbulence” piece, this is a composite of Chicago’s Leone Beach, taken on a blisteringly hot, and windy day. I’d gone to get my computer repaired and I walked (with Corey) along the lakefront, snapping photos of things and making every attempt imaginable to avoid digital withdrawal. I think I pulled through it. As with the first shot in this duo, I’d combined elements as a the elements of two stories percolated through my mind, and though the characters in those stories are inspired by this photo (and it’s companion) the “characters” in these photos have nothing to do with their literary counterparts. My muse works in funny ways, and I suspect that this image, and it’s previously-posted companion show that in some way. Or not. As I’d posted one shot, I decided it was high time that I posted its companion. And so. Here it is. As always, thank you for viewing, reading, and commenting, and I hope that you’re all having a great week.

I like the way your mind works. I keep wondering how things would be if this is the way our sky actually looked. I suppose, if this is all we had ever known, it would be pretty ordinary to us. Still, an excellent pair of photo composites.

I love the spare, clean lines of the beach photo next to the more complex "sky." This really works for me!

This works for me too; in my much younger days I recall a sunset walk on the beach of southern California (likely chemically-enhanced!) when the sky did look much this way to me...Well done, Chip!
