Description
Hiking in Arches National Park, just outside Moab Utah.
I was taking pictures of that dead tree against the rock, and on the left-hand side of my screen I kept seeing this weird blurry thing. Upon further investigation, I discovered a bird sitting on a slender stem in the foreground!
Change focal point. Reshoot. Sheesh! No wonder I never get shots of birds ... I apparently don't see them! LOL!
It's a very small bird. You might want to zoom.

What a great shot! And the bird makes the picture alive....super. Tara, thank you for your attention. By the way, my favorite picture I have also caught on our trip (not just 1 old car - a whole Junkyard .... I'm happy. The pictures of it but only come in some time.)

Birds! They are such skittish models! You got this one perfectly and I like the fact that there's no overt center in this image. Everything happens in soft focus on near the right/left borders of the image, which gives a great visual tension; there's nice business centered in this shot, but it's the edge tension that really brings the whole thing together! Excellently done...and you got a birdie too! Oh, and speaking of birds, did you know that grackles are among the few small birds that walk rather than hop? I saw grackles today...they were being...um...well...very, very busy.
