Description
Spotted this little fellow on the Thames near my workplace recently.
It is a Tufted Duck. I've not seen that many on the river even though they are quite common in the UK as, apparently, their favoured habitat in normally a local reservoir, gravel pit or lake. Also, their numbers can increase in the UK in winter because of birds moving to the UK from Iceland and northern Europe.
During my research to identify this bird, I found a number of images on Google and, it would seem, that this is it's favourite pose. :-)
