it's so hard to skip around, but because of the time I spend on comments on your work, I just can't do them all. I want to do more with your radiant chakra series, but I feel like I've done a number of them and don't want to neglect your other work, especially as your other work is essentially 'about' chakras anyway, it's just not in name. Your paintings have a very chakric energy and vision, so I'm commenting on chakric work regardless, as far as I'm concerned. I picked this because it's basically one flower, and that's less common than your bouquets (at least in your recent works). As this is a big close-up, we can see the more painterly work of your (inner) brush; and this is one of your most physical-painting-ish flowers in a while. In part because the gradations of colors on the petals are strongly delineated/contrasted, as they'd be in oil or acrylic brushstrokes. And we can feel the whites as thick additions to the petals---the way white paint feels as the artist applies it for highlight, light from another source, etc. The strokes on the lower petals undulate-out from the upper flower as only paint would, ie, in deep outreaching strokes of contrasting or gradated hues. Very painterly. But at top, whites appear more, with other lighter tones; and your flower begins to dissolve into energy. Some of those top petals feel like they're made of light as much as of petals; and, at top, they begin to morph into flame. This is the chakric part, Carol, where the material universe dissolves, "stands back" at last, and reveals a universe of light and energy within. This painting, like many others of yours, has a chakric progression. And you "end" the piece (ie, at top) with the background filled with 'echoes' of the flower. I know that those echoes could be flowers themselves: But even if they are, they feel like spirit, at least to me. A journey from fundament to spirit---very chakric! And, on the bottom-right leaves, you have one of those blue-green hues I can't name but which feel imbued with light. It's so nice to see one flower, whenever you paint them; as if we got a closeup of your bouquets, and can see what was going on in them all along. Beautiful work, and a sensual journey from matter to spirit...
