You might spot me at Kirra Beach, the South-Eastern end of the Gold Coast, Australia,  if you like beach walking like myself... but there is more ! My son Jeff (*jif3d*, here at Rendo, it helps to advertise, ooops)... he took this pic of me in 2000, then manipulated it in photo-shop and it's still one of my favourites. Just very briefly about my past... *born in East Prussia; *grew up in Berlin, West Germany; *migrated to "OZ" in 1960, (not the Wizard of Oz) but...AUSTRALIA ! I guess  I was more into '2D' since early childhood, and thinking that my son Jeff may have inherited some of my artistic skills, because he translated them into '3D'. I am hooked on photography, since I discovered cameras... that's it in a nutshell. BTW - one of my fav.quotes.... ** I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure - which is trying to please everybody !**                                              that's a wrap... Cheers Brigitte.

Oh wow! Thank you! :) Do you know, I saw the thumb on the page and loved it, then noticed it was for me (!!!) and wondered, "what's the occasion? Must be just because," and then I remembered my birthday is tomorrow! LOL! (Well, where you are it's already my birthday. Here, I still have a little over an hour to go.) We're camped in a beautiful park, and the kids and grandkids will come down in the afternoon to play and help celebrate. Thank you SO much for the beautiful banana plant! I'll put it on my desktop and enjoy it all day! :)

Beautiful shot! Bananas, all lined up on the grocery store shelf, are a regular part of the shopping experience. But like this, wow! They are such a showy, exuberant plant. I was distracted for a bit, looking up bananas, and I think this is a partially opened inflorescence, or banana heart. It is marvelous to see. Beautiful colors, depth, textures, and light. Wonderful image and dedication!

you have bananas in your garden? amazing. Now this is the lower portion of the banana plant, right? Don't the bananas grow above this? In any case, it's like a big heart, with a big stylish women's hat of the late 1800's on top, with flowers and deep red fabric---it's beautiful, Brigitte. And the shot is doused in yellows (for bananas, I presume). And your crop centers the thing right in our eyes: You cropped off the top so this thing dominated the shot. Big bold shot for Tara, and a wonderful dedication.
