Description
Another experiment in creating a historical-period image.
The problem with the English language is that it has only a single word for the concept of "love" - which has led to many problems over the centuries. The Greeks have three distinct terms for "love" (eros, filios and agape), each of which refers to a different kind of love.
These ladies could be sapphic lovers...or in a more sororal relationship...take your pick.

Oh that is a very tender expression of what the Greeks called "philia". An I love that this really shows up in the b/w render. (I understand what you mean with philia. I often translate passages from the greek testament into German. I learned it about 40 years ago now. :-) Thanks for rating so many of my pics.

Well, I tried not to put a label on it. ;)
The date also carries some very poignant connotations, as well as the fact that one of them is Asian...there's a story there (and not a happy one, I fear)
