Description
The Heinkel He-70 F was fast reconnaissance aircraft and light bomber, one developed from the initial version of a civil aircraft used as a quick mail, and transport of 4 passengers. Its elliptical wing was used in later designs bomber He-111 and He-112 fighter.
Also influenced the design of the Japanese naval bomber Aichi D3A "Val".
Although generally not supported its influence on the design of the Spitfire, a unit of the civil version was acquired by Rolls Royce, and studied, after mount a motor "Kestrel"
In rendering a He-70F "Rayo" of the Legion Condor is trying to escape from two polikarpov I-15-bis "Super chato" Republicans.
Hopefully get it and can escape from my workshop in the coming weeks.

As always great historical background combined with awesome and action rich picture. I cross my fingers for your escape.

And the Kestrel-version was faster, even though the Rolls had about 100hp less than the BMW, probably due to the more aerodynamic cowling. WIL

The Mitsubishi "Claude" also had elliptical wings... maybe everyone was looking to try new ideas... great outing for your models here
