Description
A statue of the ‘Burning Giraffe’, standing about 6 feet (1.829 meters) tall, in the gift shop, at the Salvador Dali Museum gift shop. Spanish surrealist Salvador Dalí painted the ‘Burning Giraffe’ in 1937, prior to being exiled, to the United States, from 1940 - 1948. The ‘Burning Giraffe’ painting is currently on display in the Kunstmuseum, Basel, Switzerland. As with many of his paintings, it is small, compared to some of his huge master paintings. The ‘Burning Giraffe’ is only 13.78 inches (35 cm) wide by 10.63 inches (27 cm) high. You can Google ‘Burning Giraffe’ for a look at the original painting! Some information from Wikipedia.
My 97 year old mother in law had a stroke Friday morning. So far it has only affected her vision and her eyes now take turns, one at a time, looking to the side. We spent most of today at the hospital so commenting will be delayed.

A wonderful capture of this fascinating piece. Prayers for your MIL; my friend Marge, 95 years old, had several small strokes two weeks back, and is recovering slowly with some hearing loss and weakness of her feet. Andrea's right, getting old isn't for the faint of heart!
