Description

The Faces of a Nation September 9, 2002 All around, nearly unseen, are the faces of a nation. Worn and weary, lost and alone, longing, deeply longing to be known. We walk among them, saying we care, praying their really not there, not wanting to know more, though offering to share. All around, nearly unseen, are the faces of a nation. Hopeless and saddened, wounded and dying, yearning, forever yearning to be free. We give them Jesus without His hands, tender His compassion devoid of His love. We promise His heart, absent His life, knowing, without knowing, embracing their fall. All around, crying to be seen, are the faces of a nation. Praying for Hope, yearning for Love, needing His life, seeking His hands, Looking, intently looking for The Faces of His hands. Who will you be? Copyright

M-mmmmmm kind of like 'food for thought' but not the kind that will feed the masses that are destitute. Almost every major city in the world has unfortunate people living in squalor. As Jesus said - "You will have the poor with you always", speaking here that only his Heavenly Father was capable of ending such inhumanity. A lovely rendition Cheryl of a very sad subject.

That terrible question: who will I be... and I can't answer. Beautiful work.

nice drawing, but the person seems to be floating around if you look at the lower half of the body, a bit weird. maybe add a bit shadow or something. btw the picture is called Blind Beggar (1890): riis_blind_beggar.jpg
