Description
Not a scene specific to any particular serial, but the kind of exchange characteristic of the late Graham Williams era of Doctor Who. The fourth Doctor, as played by Tom Baker, tries to impress the recently regenerated Romana by "showing off" some arcane artifact...only to discover he does not have it upon his person. Romana, as played by Lalla Ward, "shows up" the Doctor by presenting the very item he has lost. Initially nonplussed, the Doctor's chagrin turns into a genuine grin of appreciation, realizing their recent exploits were not in vain. K-9 quips something, blissfully unaware of its irony and we cue the closing "sting" that leads into Ron Grainer's score for the end credits.
Doesn't that sound about right?
Astute fans will note that Tom had switched from the burgundy coat by the time Lalla had joined the series, instead, wearing a grey one and omitting the vest, going for a slightly more contemporary feel (relative to 1980). He also started to wear the scarf far more loosely, no longer wrapping it snug against his throat. Romana's "fox hunting" ensemble is inspired upon the outfit he wore in "The Horns of Nimon".
Well, let's roll the credits.

Ok. I'll admit I 'sort of' had a crush on Romana long ago. But it never would have worked out after I considered what Time Lords evolved from. :) That scene brings back sooo many good memories. I liked the Doctor Who shows better than the other science fiction shows at the time. The Doctor Who shows held my interest and they were just plain fun. I wish I could have traveled with him many times during the series. Thanks for bringing the memories back with your rendering. That's the way it felt when the Doctor and Romana were together. I do remember the show where Romana was trying out different new bodies to see which one the doctor would like.

Looks very good Bill. :)

Fantastic scene ... wonderfully done !

Nicely done. Though it reminds me of a scene from 'Horns Of Nimon'. Largely because of how Romanadvoratrelundar is dressed here. I have to admit, I preferred Mary Tamm over Lala Ward.

Yeah, as I noted in my description, I attempted her "fox hunting" ensemble as I always loved that outfit. Taking cues from AlDemps, I'm also working upon her "Destiny of the Daleks" outfit that mimics the Doctor's, though with "feminine" colors. I haven't attempted Mary Tamm's version of Roman as I fear I won't be able to capture her more "classical" beauty. Don't think I'm saying saying Lalla Ward is unattractive. Oh, no. I'm just saying her distinctive round faced features are slightly easier to capture. Sincerely, Bill

Fantastic work !

I like your Romana- I wish I'd thought of the Red hunting coat as I know a product that would have probably fitted the bill. I like the Doctor's burgundy coat- will have to have a look at Poserworld

the coat? While it's a PoserWorld item, I replaced the supplied textures with a mod' of a free suede procedural shader I got at RunTimeDNA. With the arms lowered, the original textures stretched badly. The suede, being a Poser material node procedural doesn't suffer that distortion. Also keep in mind that coat along with the rest of that outfit is made for Michael 3. I know PoserWorld has reworked some outfits for different figures, but I don't know if this specific one was redone for M4. Besides, I thought your solution worked quite well. You can just grab the shader from RDNA and use it upon your existing ensemble. Sincerely, Bill

Good representation of Tom Baker's doctor - nice work!

I've kinda' "retired" this version of the Doctor, well, using Michael 3 as the base figure. I was lucky enough to download Werts' version of Tom for Michael 4 not long before the artist pulled his morphs from ShareCG and utterly vanished from the internet. I dis tweak the morph a bit, using injections from the Morphs ++ package, liking adding a "hint" of aging as I thought the "default" looked a bit young. A mix of "period" clothing items for M4 from the D*Z Plat Club built up a "representative" outfit, looking more or less as it did during his 3rd to 5th series.
Sincerely,
Bill
