This is the first version of my map of the Konza Prairie near Manhattan, Kansas USA (proof that Kansas is not all flat). I still need to clean up contour artifacts and add borders, trails, etc., but I thought some of you might enjoy this first look and be able to give suggestions. Data from three main sources - Digital Elevation Model (DEM), Digital Orthophoto Quadrangle (DOQ, aerial photo), and Digital Raster Graphic (DRG, topo map) - were pulled together for this image. Colorization of the aerial photo imagery took the longest time. After creating the heightfield (from the DEM) and texture (from the DOQ and DRG), I rendered the scene in POV-Ray. Sorry for the large size.. but it needs it.
