recently when I was walking my dogs, suddenly there was the largest Pitt Bull dog I have ever seen suddenly came up to my dogs.it was not being aggressive but silly Bodie wanted to be aggressive. I gently slapped his rump with the leash to get his attention because the Pitt Bull could easily kill him. the Pitt just wanted to be friendly and be petted. anyway it started following Eve,Bodie, and myself. my neighbors was in their driveway along with their Dachshund which is very aggressive. I told Raul to get his dog just in case the Pitt did not like him. while he was there, I got my dogs in the yard. this Pitt had to way around 100 pounds about 25 pounds more than Eve

I was in a milk bar (convenience store) about ten years ago when several pibulls arrived outside without leashes. The owner locked us all in. Then the pitbulls started ripping the door to pieces just to get at us. They were in a total rage. It was absolutely terrifying. The police arrived and shot the dogs. One dog was still ripping the door apart after he had been shot. I know there are people who will swear they are not dangerous, but with all due respect they are yet to be attacked by one. I reckon it was the scariest moment of my life.

Great pic of this dog but i am really scared of these dogs u never know when they are going to attack we had a neighbors pit come to our place went after our show pigs and tore them apart in seconds killed one of them and then he scaled the fence like it was nothing but we got to remember they need love also.

Nice shot Richard. These dogs are so unpredictable it is just not safe to be around them.

Super shot Richard :)

I agree with most of the other comments. Some people swear by them, me I find them ugly and schitzoid. The are as likely to lick you as bite you.
stnaper
Their outlawed where I live you cannot own one, police will take them way. Stan

Wow Richard, all I can say is thank God he wasn't aggressive. Hopefully his owner will find him and get him back home where he belongs

Wonderful capture and motif, Richard. I think he looks cool :) But most certainly a dude one should not provoke :) I kinda love all dogs..and all dogs can be good dogs. I think it is a sham the many muscle dogs, including the pittbull got the reputation they do. Because it is ALWAYS the dog owner there is something wrong with, it is never the dog. If the owner is a butthead and an azzhole...the owner will raise and train the dog, to be just like the owner .... imho. :)

A wonderful capture of this dog! I find though, that the smaller ones (I have these) like to be the 'heroes' all the time, whereas the larger ones don't seem to pay them much heed because they are already aware of their size. Excellent details you've captured, and the lighting is perfect, Richard!

I used to sleep in the driveway to watch the stars at night. Sometimes packs of feral dogs that had been abandoned by their owners would come in out of the desert to drink out of the irrigation for our landscaping in the mornings. One time I woke up to a fifty pound pit bull staring me in the face. He was the friendliest dog I have ever seen and just wanted somebody to pet him. I feel sorry for this breed because of the damage that MAN has caused them. The problems that this breed has have all been as a result of the humans that breed and mistreat them by making them fighting dogs and guard dogs. Great shot of the lovely dog!

With us, the dog owner must present a certificate for himself and for the dog. The abuse of dogs has reached a point at which one has to protect others. Some breeds are classified as "Dangerous" classified. As fighting dogs. Dogs with concern potential. This also includes former "service/work dog". German Shepherd, Doberman, golden retriever. Even hunting dogs. These dogs must pass a temperament test. Unfortunately, leashes and muzzled is for these dogs are not everywhere. The dog owner should be aware of their responsibility. Unfortunately, I am in some of these owners are not so sure. Before any dog that is higher than my knee, I have Respect. And most dogs that I do not know well. Your picture is very good. I had photographed him with ZOOM.
