Description
"You live HERE?" Seth asked as they pulled up in front of the house and shut off the bikes.
Alejandro shrugged, smiling. "Miranda's parents buy it for us. They are tired of going in the basement when they come to visit us," he laughed. "They have the big bucks, but they are nice people. Just go in the back door there."
Clay opened the back door and walked through the utility room and came around the corner, then stopped dead in his tracks. "Aye-yi-yi," he breathed.
Seth came up behind him. "Oy...."
The only one that didn't seem phased was J.D. "Hola, Carmen!"
The girl turned, surprised at the intrusion. "Ohh!" she laughed, straightening up abruptly . "I was just putting away the movies. You are here already!?"
"This is my sister-in-law Carmen, guys," Alejandro explained. He introduced Seth and Clay to her. "Clay is J.D.'s brother. Where's Miri?"
"Upstairs. Washing up from the garden." She pushed her hair back over her shoulder, looking Seth and Clay up and down, then winked at them. "I go get her."
"Sorry, I forgot to mention Carmen." Alejandro went to the fridge and grabbed some beers. "She is messing with you because she heard what you said. She is very playful that way. Don't mind her."
"How could you forget Carmen, my friend?" J.D. asked him with a sly smile. He took a long drink. "She back here for the summer?"
"For good - more or less. She quit school. She don' know what she wants and until she make up her mind she's here. Don't want to waste the parents' money. Is okay with me. It makes Miri happy to have her here, and she watches the house while we are away - takes care of the dogs and the plants. Cooks us dinner. Hey! Is a good deal - I got two pretty women to look at. Won't complain of that! I am very curious as to what you look for, Seth. Can you say, now?" He ushered them into the den. "Have a seat. Make yourself at home."
Seth explained the situation about the ritual murders in the desert. "I guess J.D. thought since you guys own that store, you might know of someone who would possibly do that sort of thing...? Got any strange customers with strange requests? You know, that sort of thing. Clay, show him what we found."
Clay brought up the pictures and handed his phone over to Alejandro. "Anything you recognize there?"
Like J.D. before him, Alejandro's face ran through a gamut of emotions as he looked at the pictures. Finally, he handed the phone back and shrugged. "All I know is this is very, very black magic. It is Miranda you need to talk to. She's the one takes care of the customers, not me." He turned to J.D. "Hey, c'mon with that, man. I need it after lookin' at that stuff! You find anything else there at that site?"
"We did, but I'll wait 'til Miranda comes down."
"You think this is someone comes into our shop? Eeeeee, this is not good. I don' like that at all!"
"Yeahhh. That is somethin' to consider," Seth answered him.
Clay agreed with Alejandro. "I'd be real concerned about that, myself...'specially if he or she is working their way up to something big. I'm guessin' it's a he. If it is a woman, she's got a male helper. J.D...man, what're you doin' there, growin' it?"
"Hey, you want fast, go ta McDonalds. Patience is a virtue, ya know!"
"Heh, no one ever accused me of havin' virtues," Clay laughed.
"Well, Miri knows more of things like this than me. Her grandma was an old bruja from Mexico. Mean old bat - aye-yi-yi!! But she love Miri and Carmen. They hear all kinds of stories from her."

You'll have to wait until next weekend now for I must get back to our space cowboys and girls. This may all seem unrelated but it's not. Carmen is Bibi without all the bling and makeup. House is "Dream Home - Great Room", "Great Room Furniture", "Great Room Accessories" and "Great Room Details" (DAZ). "Cut-Off Jeanz" (RMP), "Carolina Hair" by SWAM (no longer in RMP); and "Tied Top" by Mdd (RO Freebies). You know the rest. Thanks for dropping by dear friends! Your comments, views and favs are much appreciated - always! Have a terrific Tuesday! Ray
