Description

With 6,000 units produced by the USSR and another 2,000 units produced by Poland and China under license, the Mig 17F sounds as ubiquitous as the Volkswagen Bug in jet fighter aircraft terms. A very worthy craft in service in 20 countries with some in service even to the present, the Mig 17 saw combat most prominently in the Vietnam War as the primary interceptor of the fledgling Vietnam People's Air Force . Interesting to note that up until the F-16 it held the distinction of being the tightest turning fighter in the world at a continuous rate of 8gs, and the first production fighter to have an afterburner. A very nimble adversary, enemy pilots learned to respect it or suffer the consequences. As respectable as it's service was as a fighter, it was not designed as a fighter, but as an interceptor of level flying enemy bombers, and even though outmatched in many respects by American fighters, the "Fresco" was an effective threat against them. Mig-17F: Excellent model by Pedro Caparros, available free at Sharecg.com Pilot: M4, flight gear adh3d, and kobamax here on rendo. Poser7, Vue6Infinite, PS Cs3

Once again, a masterful piece of art Bill. The cloud plain is very effective, the model...excellent of course.Your use of the letterbox format again gives a real sense of having 'found' these in the great expanse of sky. A most pleasing piece......10/10++

Picture perfect Bill, as always. A terms of information, Wikipedia gives the amount of 41 air forces equipped with this plane. Thank you very much for the mention.
