Description

Professional photographers will often go to great lengths to get "THE" shot, but I have to admit that I was impressed when I saw the film that this render is based on. I guess it took a while for someone to figure that it was a bit safer to mount the camera inside the plane. Possibly because of some close calls? The Heinkel He 70 was one of those planes that didn't really make a big splash in the history books, but which did a tremendous amount to influence and further aircraft design during the war. Originally designed in the 1930's as a fast mail plane, and then as a passenger plane which carried a roster of 4 passengers (no cabin steward) and crew. the He 70 was re-imagined and pressed into service as a fast reconnaissance plane for the fledgling Luftwaffe. Like many German weapons before the war, it got tested for it's military suitability during the Spanish Civil War (think back on the joy of the American military when the Vietnam conflict came along with the same opportunities). Although it was quickly eclipsed and outpaced by the tide of innovation, despite its very impressive speed and distance records, the "Blitz" as it was nicknamed, influence the elliptical wing design of the successful He 111 bomber. Japan also had the opportunity to acquire the item and deftly integrated the elliptical wing shape into their "Kate" bomber as well. Still, there's that guy hanging out the side taking pictures.... Heinkel He-70 "Blitz": Another beautiful model of a little know aircraft by Pedro Caparros free at Sharecg.com. I messed with the texture a bit and modified the canopy for my own devious purposes). Pilot and daredevil shutterbug: Retextured Epici Enemy soldier from Rendo or Ontarget3d with an AH3d flying helmet. Endangered large format camera assembled down in the basement. Cinema4d XL CE+, Poser7, Vue6Infinite, PS Cs3

Perfect render as usual. And very fast. If you had taken the time, you can deduct that the dangerous gymnastic exercise of the observer, it is unnecessary (but very showy and eye catching). The Heinkel He-70-F (the version they used in the Condor Legion) and had a window in the floor of the aircraft to allow take pictures from inside the plane. My model also has the window. According to other historical information, it is a beautiful plane, very advanced for the time that marked trends in aircraft design.

Hi Pedro. I never thought to look! I was entranced with this video on Utube that showed a German version with the daredevil camera man. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYMf3eGqh44 . Thank you for the info update. I feel better about the camera man already!

This reminds me of your 'The Making of "Look-See or Appetizer"' render :-) We tried something similar at 'The Plant', Tailspin took up the IL-2 and 'Butterfingers' Bullstrode leaned out for some video of a fast pass over 'The Plant'. Needless to say he dropped the camera, the last few frames, of a very startled cow, just before impact was a huge hit on YouTube :-) Great image mate, I like the He70, a much under rated aircraft. Looks like another great model from Pedro.
