Description

"HARVEST TIME ~ Winter Red Wheat" From the "bread bowl" of the U.S.A., the crop of Winter Red Wheat is just a few days from ready to harvest. My previous post: Winter Wheat" http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=2439462&user_id=695964&np&np taken June 11th is the same kind of wheat. You can see how much it has grown and dried in the last 5 weeks. I sincerely hope that there are not high winds, rain, or hail before the crop gets harvested. Any of those could ruin it for the farmer. "The waving wheat, it sure smells sweet, when the wind comes blowin or'e the plains." Thanks for viewing my gallery and your comments. Tomorrow I will post a close up of the grain head that actually produces the flour and other products.

Wow, Thanks Andrew. That is an extensive list. Wheat has been a staple of mankind's diet since ancient times.... even before Pharoh and Egypt. I feel blessed to live in an area where it and other food are plentyful. JimC
