Description

June 1946... The war erupts into a new stage as the skies of Britain are once again filled with the best the Luftwaffe can throw into them! The RAF's finest Pilots respond in the latest fighter to roll off the assembly lines and into RAF inventory, the Supermarine SkyFury Mk1. Over the Channel and once again over London, the Battle of Britain rages renewed! I've been tinkering again with my Pusher-Prop concepts for an alternate history of WW2 and this one I've based from the Spitfire in basic style and appearance... It's powered by a late-war Griffin engine and I've again used Counter-rotating props... (there was a late variant of the Spitfire that was actually set up with a counter-rotating prop system and Griffin engine, but it was conventional design) SkyFury and StagHund fighters by me... Modeled in Hexagon Rendered in Daz Studio 2.3

Gee, this looks good. Perhaps next you could escalate to a twin-pusher design like re-arranging the P-38 Lightning (or along the lines of a Twin Mustang but backwards?). Those super-stukas are toast!

Thanx for the suggestion Briney:) One of the competitors against the Lightning during the design competitions for the contract was a twin-boom pusher called the Swoose Goose (yep... odd name but that was what they called it)

Did you ever read 1945 or the Pacific War series by Newt Gingrich. Yes THAT Newt Gingrich. Beleve it or not they (along with his Civil War series) are pretty good reads. Are you going to show us some alternate history warbirds that flew in the P.T.O. (Pacific Theater of Operations) & the China/Southeast Asia theater? Then there are the Bombers real life ones like the US's B-36 "Peacemaker" & Russia's Tu-95 "Bear" You know your idea of useing Counter-rotating props might make the Skyfury real noisey maybe like the Bear or the Republic XF-84H "Thunderscreech". You might want to look up the "Thunderscreech" it's got an interesting history.

My main consideration in using counter-prop designs was that it provides more efficient use of airflow, and reduces the torque-induced control issues that most conventional prop-craft suffer from... Bute yes... increased noise is a real downside of this type... along with increased engine wear... Look up the YB-35 and XB-35 flying wing also for good designs... :)

I am planning on making a version based on features of the Japanese Zero... :)

Don't have a chance to drop by to often these days but it is always a pleasure to find your works here when I do. Ran across some of your models for sale the other day, hope I can find that link (I think I know now how to finish that scene I've been struggling with).
