Description

There ya go. The polygon smoothing is nice, but see the problems with the clothing texture? I also had to playw ith the settings for the hair a lot. Credits: V2 (Daz) Maia (Dark Corner) Wonder Wedge (Daz) Spywear (Daz) with the SS add on textures.

Nice face but what is all the black stuff in the hair on the firefly render? Is it shadows??

Thank you for taking time to show the difference. This is good for me to see as I am still using Poser4ProPack. It will be a while before I get Poser5.(Mainly because I am still paying off Poser 4 and Photoshop)I have been reading the forum about the pros and cons of Poser5 and your render helps out a lot. Thanks again.

No problem. I am sure that the issues with the P5 render are either my ignorance or a problem with my P4 objects... I know FireFly is much pickier about how textures line up and so on.

Actually, I like the cloth better, but that's just me....looks like silk. The eyes on the right are much more lifelike, too. Thanks for sharing this. I've already ordered it, but it always helps to see things like this.

Well, purely on looks, I prefer the right image, better eyes, the skin looks better defined, the hair looks more consistent and obviously, the cloth functions better. :)

I like the right render. Thanks for sharing the render comparison between P5 firefly engine and P4.

if transparency fall-off isn't completely .0000 you'll get things like the black stuff in the hair. Ive also found that you cant open old ppp projects and have them look right with things like reflection maps and transparency maps you have to go into the materials room and fix them. And boy you can do a lot with the new materials room but man it takes some study. I personally wish theyd have a simple materials room setup like P4 and an advanced like they have now, so you could make quick changes in the simple room and more detailed changes in the advanced one.

IMHO, I like the P4 version!

Thanks for the comparison. I will probably wait for Poser 5.01 or 5.02 before upgrading...let you pros discover the bugs and when CL works them out, then I will quit smoking and start saving my money!

Retry on Poser5 SR2 to see if it does better? I hear SR2 is more compatible with P4. Also, if the texture still doesn't line up, I suggest sending the details plus this pic to CL.
