Description
Captured 12/15/12, early morning, looking east about half a mile from my anachronistic abode.
Since rain is such a rarity around here, I made sure to record the event in one way or another.
A MUST see full size.
Shalom, and have a nice day.

Rain???? In JUNE????? Unheard of! Is that steam I see in the air as the heat vaporizes the moisture? Sometimes rain isn't a benefit as it just fuels the humidity machine. But I'm sure the local plantlife is happy. Excellent evidential capture of this phenomenon, Harry. And we had torrential downpours two days ago, and now we're heading up to the highest temps of the year. I'm not too excited since I don't do heat...

MrsRatbag: Not June. The text plainly states that the photo was taken on 12/15/12, almost before the official onset of winter.

Nice catch! It's sometimes nice to catch those little rarities of life. I wish rain was scare here... inches over the norm for the year already and it dumped on us half the day with rain in the forecast for the next week. Grass will be knee high before it can be mowed again.

back for a few more, and I hope to be back in another day or two. You do these water-drops-on-surfaces very well, Harry. This is a beauty. Partly for the fanned-out rain-streams; partly for the beauty of the droplets themselves; and partly for your light playing across them. And you have light hitting the windshield and also on the trunk; really nicely captured. And light emanating out from the windshield too, a subtle rainbow bouncing back into space. You use flare very well, which is really worth noting. Because it's not an easy art, and I know a lot of photographers who stay away from it altogether. But you do it very well, where it becomes a shimmering part of the image. The composition's good too, as the lower part of the car is a good frame to the watered-part. Another sensitive and nuanced capture of water on a surface, from you... I hope you're not getting what a lot of the west got in the last several days---orr that it's over, if you are. They say that some desert temps are breaking earth-wide records. Hope you're not baking out there...
