Description

A house I came across a while back I just thought it looked like it has so much history and I am sure lots of stories about the people that had passed through the doors. I liked the way the tree framed the roof to me it was so charming. I could picture a fresh coat of paint, some flowers a garden, a porch swing and a brand new home and life for someone. Have a great weekend all. Quite a few of you asked about how I was able to get the photos of the giraffes from that angle, well there is a bench that is near where they were so I did stand on that but they were just close enough that I just was able to zoom in enough. The story below is about twin giraffes that were born last month in Texas they are so adorable, I want the job of working with them. Twin Giraffes What's up? thumb_2451029.jpg

I love urbex. When I imagine what they could tell everything! And this one has a faded charm that you can bring with color to life. If it were not far from Berlin, I would paint it yourself! Good luck with your job at the giraffes. Job as a photographer? Or as animal care givers?

Cool capture – the cropping is great and I’m not sure if there was any postwork but I like the overall look if the image. Nicely done!!!

you've always done old houses and barns beautifully: This image has an intensity---in part from your postwork---that makes it very articulate. Your postwork (as I assume it's not all from the camera) has emphasized edges and lines; it's made the house speak a little more 'clearly'; and it gives the house an imposing strength. You caught the light and dark of the surface with strong contrasts. And your composition leads us to the door, which is canopied by over-arching leaves---a nice touch. And we're brought right into the middle of it, the frame cutting off the edges and top and bottom, so we feel like were zeroing-in on the house, exclusively. More of your fine old-building photography, Lynell; very articulately done.

A great shot! That looks good for an old house. The boards look straight and the nails are still holding them on. I would refurb this instead of demoing it if I had a choice.

What a great shot and what history that house must hold
