Description

The male yellow headed blackbird feeding one of the young. This bird has about 3 or 4 nests on the go with around 2 chicks in each one he has to run around and feed. Normally the male will feed only the first nestlings and the females do the rest, but seems this one was doing triple duty.

I have never heard of this bird. They are quite handsome and this is a wonderful capture. Where do these birds live?

Very sweet shot, and the young gobble up so many bugs it's just hard to believe. They abound at one of my local lakes here in Alberta! I sit on a chair next to a boat ramp and they wander all around me getting the dragonfly larvae. They are often too close to photograph!

How do they not get stung by those yellow jackets? A fantastic nature shot for sure!
