Description
Captured 6/28/13, early morn, about a third of a mile from my hallowed haunt.
Photo taken at a diagonal tilt to take advantage of the size and number of these palm trees. They even lean south when viewed upright. And there are still more of them at the left and out of the picture. That is a school at the bottom.
I have a ton/tonne of shots of these old timers, showing them at various POVs under different times and weather conditions: sunset, sunny, overcast, and foggy. But with so many other photos at my disposal, I just keep forgetting to post them.
Ciao, and have a nice day.

The lines of palm trees are possibly the only thing I miss about southern California; what an excellent job getting all of these into one shot! Well done, sir! These look like they've been growing for quite some time.

You know, where you've used tilts, you've used them very naturally. They're so hard to use well, they often seem "artsy" or even pretentious: But you've used them as if the scene were 'made' for them, and this is another example...The level-school in the lower left corner roots us in this angle, makes it seem natural. But moreso, the actual tilt of the trees seems natural for the trees---they ask for it, partly because they sway backwards to begin with (as you point out), and partly because the tilt brings out their lankiness and that strange palm-tree thing of very high trunks with leaves only at the top. A line-up, a procession, almost military. And against that big blue sky too. It's a beautiful shot, natural, and eye-catching. Really fine work, Harry.

Ha! A great, if slightly mind bending, POV Harry mate! Great shot of some very impressive palm trees! Nice one! Rob

Marvelous shot! I love the tilt and the lean. It emphasizes the extreme height of the trees and makes me think of them being buffeted by the Santa Ana winds. I look forward to seeing more of your shots of them.
