Description

I was sitting on my dock and feeding the turtles when this little Green Anole scampered across the decking right at my feet. He stopped several times to display his dew lap. This is done for mating purposes or to announce his dominance. I had been hoping to get a shot of a Kingfisher on the other side of the pond and so I had my camera preset for a much greater distance, a much faster subject and a lot more light than this situation required. As a result, the image was very dark but I managed to tweak it enough to share. The Anole is not green in this shot because he was on a grey deck - they can more or less adjust their own color to match the background they are on. He was also in the process of shedding his skin. How cute. :)))) I watched a lizard like this one at the beach. :)))) He would do three or four push-ups and then he would do just like this lizard is doing. LOL!!! What an awesome lil creature looks like he is trying to soak up the sun's rays............ and yep he is the color of the deck rail.....except for that one teeny spot near his tail where he has shed his skin nice to meet you as well hope you come visit me in my gallery as well Susan~
