Description
Echium candicans, commonly known as Pride of Madeira. A species of the flowering plant in the family Boraginaceae, native to the island of Medeira. It is a herbaceous biennial subshrub growing 4 to 11 feet(1.5-2.5m).
Widely available throughout the world as an ornamental plant. It is drought tolerant and suitable for coastal planting, popular here in California. It is frost-prone and requires some winter protection, minimum temp. requirement 41-45 degrees (5-7 C)
