Description

Great Sand Dunes National Park, just outside Alamosa, Colorado. It's a magical place. The highest dune rises about 700 feet above the valley floor! I posted an image of this same place back in April. Click here for a better sense of scale and distance.

Beautiful capture! The light has both an intensity and a softness. The rough and extremely defined texture of the wood contrasts with the soft texture of the distant dunes. The composition is excellent and the lighting flawless.
