------------- Villainess Pinups – Illiaraenna

One of those who wasn’t so lucky as to avoid the Night Raptors on their mad rampage through the Demonweb was another High Priestess of Lolth, and a noblewoman of some renown, Illiaraenna Everhurden.

So, to talk with her we had to go back in time a ways before that fateful encounter. We found Illiaraenna in the Splinter Kingdom about four years ago, tending to her flock of devoted Spider Worshippers. Outside of the basic issues of a male reporter trying to get anything out of a female Drow besides insults and venom, we finally managed to get her sat down and talkative.

Illiaraenna was raised as a normal enough Drow in the old days before the first death of Lolth. She took the first loss of her Goddess a little hard and dedicated herself to finding those responsible and bringing them to justice. That, of course, never happened, but she had a lot of fun along the way. When Lolth returned for the second time, she was elated. Prophecy said Lolth would rule for five centuries before meeting Her final fate, but then again, that was a prophecy set forth by a High Priestess of Lolth in the last few years, so its authenticity is subject to much speculation. But Illiaraenna took it as gospel and set out to prosecute her Goddess’ will on the unbelievers,… which was basically everybody outside of her little sect.

When we met with Illiaraenna, she had just finished with a religious ceremony. We noted that it must be difficult to get that much blood out of spider silk. She smiled and informed us through the translator that she performs all sacrifices in the nude. Almost makes you want to have your heart cut out and eaten by spiders. Or not.

She told us that her perfect date would be a night with a Yochlol. The thought of all those pseudopod tentacles really turns her on. She likes estraya, that lovely UnderDark mushroom based liquor, well done Displacer Beast steaks, and Alk roses. You want to win her shriveled heart? Bring lots of gold, several dozen sacrifices, and her current worst enemy’s head on a platinum platter. Obviously, being an unholy-symbol-carrying member of the she-bitch-man-hating club of Lolth, she’s not into guys. That’s probably fortunate, as she’d probably feed your eviscerated corpse to a summoned demon afterwards.
