A great colour. Congratulations on the landmark.

Great color and detail. The center of the orchid appears to look similar to a bird in flight.

Hi Harry, I'm thrilled to be back. I start with this because it was originally your 2500th image, and it was a beauty for that milestone. I assume, since then, that you've done a 'clean-out' in your gallery? Removed some old works? (Either that or someone came by and staged a massive art robbery, lol.) Whatever it was, you're now at 2465, as of this writing. But this is a beautiful image regardless...it just also made a great milestone. For one, it's beautiful while being gentle, understated. You mentioned "considerable, but difficult to detect" postwork: Absolutely. The sign of a fine darkroom artist. It looks backlit, but then again it looks as if the light were coming from within the orchids themselves; beautiful. The light-and-hue combination are gently breathtaking. A gentle yellow-green with almost a touch of blue...And the contrasts with the stamens is clear and clean as can be; with your signature line-up of stamen-top (the white bright bulb) with the lines of the petals behind: I hope you know what I mean: It makes a glow, a 'diadem' out of the flower, like the stamens are wearing a crown. You've captured and coaxed this phenomenon several times now, and it's just magic. And your 'bokeh' background is perfect, with those yellow accents on the bottom and the bits of bright green-tinged light on the top. A beautiful, perfected image. Also, I see you got as many full-size views as you did comments: Bravo. Maybe the viewers are starting to wake up. A beautiful image for your milestone---and really, though you removed some images since, you still hit 2500, maybe more; and it's worth the celebration any way you cut it. A beautiful gentle flower capture.
