I love the fabric of these leaves, Harry; they're wonderful for backlighting, and have some of the best stripe patterns around. Wonderful capture here, and I do believe I see a water drop on one of those lovely red edges!

Almost pure abstraction while still being canna leaves. This shot (and an adjacent one in the series) emphasizes the sheer lines of the leaves---the contrasting hues aren't nearly as prevalent here, by choice, I assume---and the majestic contrast of light with shadow. The latter alone makes this an abstract study---the play of shadow is simple but powerful, one reason why artofsouls spoke of this as a professional print. The few red lines---esp the one on the far right (where Denise sees a water drop, as do I)---make perfect contrast. And the in medias res is balanced by a left-right composition, with the center stalk at center, and the angled leaves on the left for contrast. Finally, there's that 'mystical' orange light in the left top---I assume an out of focus background; but you used this, cropped it and perhaps postworked it to perfection, because it indicates a world of light well out of the frame, which we get a glimpse of in the shot. So glad you included that. This is a study in the sheer design-power of nature; and amazing how you got the stripes without letting them dominate (as they do in others of this series): Here, they make a whole rather than a series of strong, explosive statements. Beautiful variation on this series. Beautiful work.

This superb, Harry! Such beauty in an economy of lines. The composition, crop, and light are perfect. There is a soft, glowing quality to the light, that brings out the wonderful lines and textures of the leaves without detracting from the beautiful composition of the whole. I like the red elements; the red trim on the edges of the leaves, the soft orange highlight of the midrib of the leaf and to its right, and the orange color in the top left corner, which merges into the green and sets the eye to notice the other reds. Beautiful light and shadows. On the left the leaf, whose exposed part makes such a wonderful triangle of lines, is also seen by the back-lit shape of its shadow. I like the strong shadow of the stem in the center leaf. Gorgeous shot!
