Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I onlyĀ use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. IĀ carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series,Ā binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
IĀ am gettingĀ theĀ hang ofĀ Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Ā
I have a wildlife gardenĀ in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagersĀ a while ago.
I'mĀ now getting some good results withĀ my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, butĀ the mistakes are much cheaper!Ā Ā
I haveĀ 4 lodgers,Ā 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Looks like they are having quite a party. I count thirteen. This is an amazing shot. Do you walk around the garden with a microscope?

Wow, team eating events!

Stellar lighting effects achieved to bring out the larvae and texture amidst the leaves, Andrea. I always thought a canteen was either a flask type container to drink from, or a recreation hall for military servicemen: I left my heart at the Stage Door Canteen I left it there with a girl named Eileen....

Great shot but they look like they could do a lot of damage in a short time.

Oh my ... so many of them! It's lunchtime for sure! Terrific capture of these little mouths with legs.

A fantastic photo Andrea - they are cutting right through everything - I love that you captured the line of four in a row - on the right!

Indeed it appears the whole family wanted to dine together, wonderful capture but they can devastate vegetation although my problems are with earwigs at nights crawling up younger plants and stripping them bare. Got rid of my border stones because of it. Sometimes they hide in the heads of flowers.
